[ A day of ... calming down after his talk with Obi-Wan. ]

Master Sunrider. I was wondering if you would like to join me for training.

[Well this is somewhat unexpected. Not unwelcome, but...unexpected.]

Of course, Anakin. Name a time and a place, and I'll happily work with you.

Thank you. There's a gym on the Iskaulit that could work. I've sent you the location.

Location received. When did you have in mind? I don't have much in the way of duties here save to working with Vima when she's not on duty, so I'm largely free.

My duties aren't in high demand since we're still docked. If you're free now, I wouldn't mind a light training session. My former Padawan has a few wooden sabers we could use.

Of course. I'll see you there.

[ He drops his communicator into his pocket and heads off. He is eager but it doesn't show in the steady and deliberate movements; he knows whatever he gains from here will be advice and nothing actionable. When Nomi arrives, she'll find Anakin going through some training drills with the promised wooden sabers, one in each hand and clearly employing Niman style. ]

[Nomi arrives precisely on schedule, dressed in her usual sea-green Jedi robes, carrying nothing with her save a small bag. Setting that down, she bows her head in greeting.]

Good afternoon, Anakin.

[She is by no means an expert on lightsaber combat, but she does recognize the form. Most of the codified styles of fighting come from after her time, and she herself fought entirely by instinct and with the guidance of the Force. Still, his posture reminds her a bit of Master Jeth's.]

So, you wanted to train with sabers? Or something else?

[sandhate]

[ Anakin drops his stance and bows his head in turn. It's still incredibly strange to see, to know beyond the shadow of a doubt, that this is Nomi Sunrider.

He feels silly with the sabers in hand when she speaks, but gives a light shrug as he toss a saber over, the wood buoyed by his casual use of the Force. ]

I figure they were a good start. That is, if you don't mind.

[ Despite his suggestion, he's obviously eager to talk about other things. ]

Absolutely, Obi-Wan. What can I do for you?

It's about my former Padawan, Anakin. I fear he might get some foolish ideas into his head and come to you.

Come to me about what, exactly?

[beardstrokes]

[ He hesitates before sending off his reply. ]

About cutting people off from the Force.

He asked me if that was something I could do.

[Her next reply comes later. After some thought.]

I won't be training anyone on that particular technique, if you were concerned about that.

[beardstrokes]

I didn't think so.

[ And that much was true. ]

but I thought I'd head off that possibility as soon as I could.

He likely doesn't understand the meaning of it. Or why I did what I did to Ulic Qel-Droma.

[Oh boy...this is hopefully not about the same thing Anakin asked about...

Nomi smiles readily, looking at the camera and setting aside a book.]

Of course, Luke. What's on your mind?

[It might well be, who even knows anymore.]

I was wondering-- when we spoke the first time, you mentioned the Dark side as though you had some experience with it.

[WHELP]

Yes, I do. Not in a "fell into shadow" way, mind you. But I fought in the Great Sith War, against the fallen Jedi Exar Kun, as well as conflicts against Sith cultists. I've seen the Dark Side, though only from the outside.

Sith Cultists? [His eyes go wide. But, back to the point...] I guess, through all that, you've seen people fall to darkness?

[seaoflight]

Non-Force Sensitives who work for the Sith.

[She nods.]

Yes. I have. More than a few, unfortunately.

Oh. In my day, we just call those the Empire.

[He sighs, tiered and somber.] I'm sorry, Nomi. I was wondering if... I've always suspected that it changes people, but I've never known anyone from before to measure the difference.

[seaoflight]

[Nomi nods.]

I understand the question. The answer is complicated. The Dark Side is full of anger, of hate, and fear. You know that, I'm sure. It's probably tried to tempt you. And those emotions change a person. They make you angrier, more hateful, paranoid.

So yes, it does change you. But it's not permanent. Fallen Jedi can be redeemed. I've seen it. I've helped facilitate it. But...they have to want redemption.
