It's about my former Padawan, Anakin. I fear he might get some foolish ideas into his head and come to you.

Come to me about what, exactly?

About cutting people off from the Force.

He asked me if that was something I could do.

[Her next reply comes later. After some thought.]

I won't be training anyone on that particular technique, if you were concerned about that.

I didn't think so.

[ And that much was true. ]

but I thought I'd head off that possibility as soon as I could.

He likely doesn't understand the meaning of it. Or why I did what I did to Ulic Qel-Droma.

He wouldn't. That does not surprise me.

[ Anakin has never felt it. Very few have. Obi-Wan was unfortunate enough to be one of those few. ]

Few would. It was very much a snap decision out of necessity. One I have regretted every time I see his face.

But, you should know I have agreed to teach him some things. To see if there is something I can do to help him progress, though that remains a mystery of the Force only my daughter will learn from me. And only in time. Not now.

[ Hearing that . . . helps. Being on Zigoola, cut off from the Force was one of the harrowing experiences Obi-Wan had ever been through. Even now, thinking about it came with its fears. ]

By all means. He's no longer my padawan and he should be free to seek out new masters. So long as he's not only seeking a means to an end.

With regards to your Sith Lord, you mean?

So he told you about that?

You told me about the Sith Lord.

Anakin's interest in it is obvious. He wants to stop this man. And he told me rather pointedly that it was someone he called a friend.

[ Hrff, Anakin. He's not surprised that Anakin would have told her that. ]

His feelings have been compromised.

I can tell. And that's a perfectly healthy reaction to have. If someone close to you has been plotting to hurt you and yours then not being upset by it would trouble me more than a Jedi being emotionally compromised in that situation.

We are not droids, after all, and he is young. And it's better that he overcomes that frustration here, away from that man, I believe. He can't do anything rash.

One can hope.

I told him to look to his family for now and a solution will, no doubt, present itself.

And his wife. I'm sure they'll help him find perspective and not let him get carried away by the fear of loss.

His wife is here? I had no idea. Though I agree. Family should be his focus.

As for myself, I do intend to teach some things he may not know, or does not seem to. That should give him something else to focus on as well. Shields are a difficult thing to master, and I will not go easy on him.
